When the alarm signals went off from the watchtowers, the inhabitants took refuge on the hill which dominates the protective bay, where the hamlets of Montepertuso arise, which takes its name from the characteristic mountain bucato according to the legend from the Madonna, and Nocelle, point of arrival of the Path of the Gods and connected by 1500 steps to the beach of Arienzo. In Nocelle, the highest cluster of houses in the town, is the parish church of Santa Maria delle Grazie also known as the New Church, with a particular elliptical shape with a domed roof, which also retains a rare majolica floor from the Baroque transformation of the 18th century with plant motifs.
Also at the top is the Liparlati district with the square from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama, like the one that the village cemetery offers up to the Faraglioni of Capri. Several illustrious foreign guests are also buried there. Due to its position, superb 19th-century villas stand in Lipartati, overlooking via Camerelle. Worth visiting is the church of San Giacomo: a single nave with a vaulted ceiling with lunettes and a fine majolica floor. The bell tower does not go unnoticed, surmounted by an onion-shaped spire covered with colored majolica.
